Put the people of Alabama First!

Alabama Bus Tour with Special Guest, Herman Cain

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Birmingham-

Kathy Peterson, candidate for President of Alabama’s Public Service Commission, will campaign across the state on a bus tour on March 8th and 9th.

“As I campaign, my focus is on the most important part of our state, it’s great people,” Peterson says. “It is time to put We The People back in charge.  That is exactly what I will do as President of the Public Service Commission.”

Herman Cain, Georgia businessman and former presidential candidate, will join Kathy on the tour.  “I am so excited to have Herman Cain come to Alabama to support my campaign,”  said Kathy.  “We will be making stops throughout the state on Thursday and Friday.”

“Herman and I look forward to meeting each of you as we tour the state.  At each stop, we will make a major announcement that you won’t want to miss.”

HERMAN CAIN / KATHY PETERSON  -  ALABAMA  TOUR SCHEDULE >>>>

THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE.  WE NEED A BALANCED APPROACH.

The global warming scare was supported by the "hockey stick chart" that showed how our planet was doomed to become as hot as hades if we didn't make drastic changes. That chart showed that there had been a sudden increase in global temperatures. I can remember seeing images on television showing glaciers falling apart, polar bears suffering, forests being destroyed, etc. as evidence that global warming was upon us and MUST be stopped. It was alarming.

Today we know that the hockey stick graph was created using unscientific data. In fact, science had nothing to do with it. Instead, the hockey stick was developed by using carefully selected data and by cherry picking "apples and oranges," claiming the evidence was irrefutable and that global warming was real.

Facts that didn't support the global warming theory were simply ignored. Instead of referring to their evidence as scientific, global warming alarmists said their data was collaborative and consensus based. A movie called An Inconvenient Truth depicted the catastrophic events that would occur if we didn't stop the purported global warming. Through careful craftsmanship and doctored data, the quest to stop global warming took on a life of its own.

Today, the hockey stick graph has been debunked, but we're stuck with the snake oil. The EPA continues to write and impose draconian regulations to stop the use of traditional forms of energy, with particular emphasis being placed on stopping the use of coal-fired energy. At the same time, the federal government is attempting to prop up alternative energies such as solar and wind, even though these alternatives are barely a blip on the radar when it comes to the amount of energy needed to fuel this country.

The answer is simple. We need a balanced approach.
Use the fossil fuel resources that are readily available by removing regulations that prevent their responsible recovery and use. Use hydroelectric energy wherever possible. Put nuclear energy back on the map by removing restrictions that discourage its use. Continue to explore alternative forms of energy. Finally, stop trying to force feed Americans snake oil. We don't like the taste of it.

Kathy says, “I made the decision to seek the office of President of the Alabama Public Service Commission after a lot of thoughtful consideration. I have never held political office, which most today believe is a huge positive – and so do I. Almost everyone is tired of recycled politicians who make careers of political job hopping while trying to climb the political ladder. Those who do that mistakenly refer to themselves as “servants of the public,” when in reality, they are just “servants to themselves,” feeding at the government trough at taxpayers’ expense. That must stop.”  Learn More About Peterson»
